Real Estate has been an outstanding career even with the shifts in the market.  I can sincerely say "I LOVE WHAT I DO!"  Every client is different, every transaction is different, every day is different and every REALTOR is different.  There is constant change although some changes don't come easy.  Those who've been in the business for much longer than me have weathered the "storms" and I, too, plan to ride out the effects of the latest dip in the real estate market.

Before I arrived at becoming a REALTOR, I worked my way through college in restaurants, several service departments at the Embassy Suites Hotel and then landed in the Sales department.  I took a break from the "corporate world" and started a residential cleaning business.  My husband says I have an OCD and maybe I do when it comes to cleaning; I never tire of doing it.  A few years into cleaning, I needed to get back to working with people minus the windowless office and stale air.  It was then I was inspired to become a REALTOR.  I worked at both for several years and sadly said goodbye to my cleaning clients after nine years; mostly with the same families.

My husband, Tommy, and I live in Chapin where he runs his own pressure cleaning business; Acu-Tech Pressure Cleaning which is handy for me and my clients.  He recently re-certified as an EMT and will continue pressure cleaning for his clients in between his new work schedule.  If not pressure cleaning or on an ambulance, he's on the softball field.  I think he's the one who has an OCD; at least about softball.

Opportunties to serve others is also a gift from God.  Being a REALTOR, helping people buy and sell real estate, is just another way I can share what He has given me.
Now the "just for fun" part.  Through it all I have maintained my passion for sewing.  That's right... sewing!  I learned by watching my Mom sew when I was younger and have been doing it ever since... 24 years and counting.  Currently, I teach Sewing I & II at a local technical college.  There's been a resurgence of folks young and old that participate in the class and for me it's a real joy to see them learn and their excitement over their new skills.  I'm grateful I am able to share my zeal for sewing; I consider it a gift from God.
